| In Memory of my Baby girl
Jeanmarie Wallendorf August 7th 1978 -September 11th 2001
The tragedy of 911 may have taken you from this earth but Never from my heart
I find an old photograph
and see your bright and beautiful smile.
As I feel your presence anew,
I am filled with warmth
and my heart remembers love.
I read an old card
from many years ago
The words written then
still caress my spirit
and bring me peace.
I remember who you used to be
the laughter we shared
and wonder what you have become.
Where are you now,
Where did you go,
When the body is left behind
and the spirit is released to fly?
Perhaps you are the morning bird
singing joyfully at sunrise,
or the dragonfly that dances
so carelessly on the breeze
or the rainbow of colors
that brightens a stormy sky
or the fingers of afternoon mist
delicately reaching over the mountains
or the final few rays of the setting sun
lighting up the skies
edging the clouds with a magical glow.
no matter what form you may have become
I name each one after you.
I miss you Jaime
but I feel your presence,
In whatever form you choose to take,
however you now choose to be.
Your spirit has become for me
a guardian angel on high
guiding, advising, and watching over our family.
it may have been 11 years you were taken away
but it does not change a thing because
Each day that goes by I miss and love you the same,
the only thing that keeps me alive is knowing that
You are with me and then... I am not afraid.
Love,Mom

| Dear V, I am still in such shock that you are no longer with us. It is truly a recurring nightmare. It is exactly 3 months today. You and I were in grammer school and grew up together in beautiful Demarest New Jersey. You always made me laugh. You had such an amazing sense of humor. I miss you Chris. I think about your family with every waking moment. I cannot imagine the pain they are feeling. I pray for them non-stop. I was at your service in St. Joe's and Mike, Matt, Rick, Eamonn and your football coach did such an amazing job talking about you. It truly was an honor and an amazing tribute. Everyone was so proud to have known you! I really really wished that I had seen you more recently. Your brother Doug got up and had us all high five you! Everyone knew that was your trademark from an early age. The entire church's eyes filled with tears and huge smiles. Demarest will never be the same with out you, nor will New York. You are a great loss to anyone whoever met you. I hope you are at peace and pray your family and those close to you will also find peace. Know in your heart Vio, that President Bush is taking care of those who did this! We miss you dearly. Love, Ann Marie Neary, friend

Stephen K. Tompsett

My husband, Stephen Tompsett worked for Instinet Corporation as a senior vice president in technology. He was attending a conference at Windows on the World on September 11. Stephen was 39 years old and although he was dedicated to his work and the people he worked with, he was always with our daughter Emily and I. Our daughter turned 10 eleven days after her father was killed. We were an especially close-knit family as Emily was our only child because of many, many miscarriages. We were completely devoted to each other. My husband came to New York 15 years ago from Australia on a three-week business trip and never left. We had been together constantly since. Until September 11, the longest we had ever been apart was 10 days, in 1990 when we moved back to NYC from London. Some words from his collegues: "In many ways, Steve belonged to everyone. He was the leader of the troops, yet he was right down there helping out with all the details. You could always go to Steve for an answer. I never knew Steve to lie or even stretch the truth to suit himself. I never knew Steve to say something about someone that he would not or had not already said to the person." "How many of us ... had enough passion and discipline to write down our own core values -- herein lies the uniqueness and brilliance of Steve. Perhaps Steve was such a brilliant technologist precisely because he knew its limitations and what drove Steve and his values was, not technology, but his concern for people." Our hearts are broken forever without Stephen.
